INTRODUCTION
Welcome to an insane world with no anchor. All of us are there. Few, if any, church bodies can be trusted to fulfill the commands of Jesus Christ, and those which are solid theologically are battlegrounds for forces attempting hostile takeover. For the individual Christian, this means that no institutional denomination can be trusted to meet your spiritual needs; worse yet, most of their pastorates are populated by wolves, devouring souls and getting paid for it. To those who find and attend a good church with a good pastor, kudos. For the rest of us, the danger has never been clearer.
The Christian hungers for something real, something authentic that can fulfill the needs of the saints. But how is he to ensure the spiritual health of himself and his family with nowhere to go, and no one he can trust? Maybe the thought crosses our minds to make our own church, but what good will that do when there are no safe havens?
Enter the Very Lutheran Project. Here, the independent Christian can find everything he needs to plant a house church, and to worship freely without the threats of subversion, degeneracy or heresy. All content here, from liturgy for the home to ready-to-play sermons to pre-made Bible studies and endless other resources, ensure that you can start a new, free congregation with all the theological leg work done for you by a qualified, ordained minister. With the Very Lutheran Project, running a home congregation (from the "catacombs") - or even an established brick-and-mortar church - has never been easier.
Even better, all of these resources are 100% free. The VLP will never charge a dime for a single service, and instead runs solely by donations to keep everything running. As a spiritual service, it runs solely by your support.
THEOLOGY
The Very Lutheran Project is just that...Very Lutheran. All sermons, Bible studies and programs come from a Confessional Pietist position, to ensure that the people we help hear from a Lutheranism that means it. But what is Confessional Pietism?
-By Confessional, we mean that our identity as Lutherans comes from our subscription to the original 1580 Book of Concord, because it is a faithful interpretation of God's Word. To learn more, the entirety of the Book of Concord can be found here: https://thebookofconcord.org/
-By Pietist, we mean that kind of Spenerite Lutheranism that emphasizes vigor in the Christian life and devotion, defending doctrinal orthodoxy by fighting the decay and rot of both dead churches and dead faith.
Confessionalism ensures that bad doctrine does not creep in to the faith. Pietism ensures that bad practice is kept at bay. Putting both of these together creates the goal that we earnestly desire here: again, Lutheranism that means it.
